Aboriginal Healing,
Sharing Culture |

'David Clark is one of those rare people who has the capacity, tenacity and passion for seeing a need and following it through with a practical response, despite the self-sacrifice and continuing hurdles that can be part of this process. Sharing Culture is one such response.
Education, awareness and deep connection through understanding are key ingredients in addressing Intergenerational Trauma and the resultant symptoms amongst my mob and indeed Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations worldwide. Sharing Culture provides a resource that has the capacity to dream a path that involves intergenerational healing as it fills a desperate need for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples around the world to share their stories, to talk about what works and what does not work, and to build authentic empathetic relationships around this issue. The incredible list of key Advisors that have enthusiastically accepted to be part of the Sharing Culture project comprise of some of the world’s most respected and experienced people in this field. This is a testament to David Clark’s approach and vision. The Sharing Culture project needs to be fully supported for David to take it to the next level. It is both an honour and a privilege to be part of this project.' Dr Carlie Atkinson, We Al-Li healing program “We commend you on your development of Sharing Culture. Your initiative is extremely necessary, not only for Aboriginal peoples but for Non-Indigenous people of Australia as well. What you have done already is priceless.” Dr Zohl de Ishtar, Executive Director of the Kapululangu Aboriginal Women's Law and Culture Centre, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee 2005 |
'Since stumbling across Sharing Culture, I have regularly shared David’s blogs on my personal and group Facebook pages. I felt a pull towards David’s Sharing Culture work, as it relates to my life experiences in many ways. His work reminds me that my cultural ties and practices have done a lot to help me overcome the adversities I have faced in my life.
It gives me real peace of mind to know we have someone with David’s wisdom and understanding pointing out how important Aboriginal culture is to our wellbeing, especially when we are in times of despair. David’s work over the past few years has given me hope and the tools to continue to live a life of purpose and conviction. I hope to share our culture and my life experiences, as I and those close to me continue our journey of healing from the historical trauma we have inherited. Thank you, David, for encouraging, supporting and believing in me. And thank you for all the amazing work you do, including telling the world how important our culture is to our survival. I want you to know that I am committed to ensuring your work is shared far and wide. You inspire me.” Kaiyu Moura, Cultural Educator, Stradbroke Island 'I found a quiet space to go through both your websites. They are amazing! You are doing such important powerful work… The Sharing Culture site has so much good material... it would be an essential resource for any course I was running.' Emeritus Professor Judy Atkinson, Australia’s leading expert on the healing of historical trauma “Sharing Culture provides a one-stop resource with academic resonance for the voice and lived experience of Noongar and other Aboriginal people. It is vital for facilitating best practice in education and capacity building of the Community-owned Noongar Institute of Western Australia Inc.” Anne DeSouza, Education Partnerships Actioning Team, Noongar Institute of Western Australia |
