Some of you already know something about Sharing Culture. For those of you who are new to our website, Sharing Culture aims to help Aboriginal people heal from historical trauma and its consequences. You can find out more about about our aims on our home page.
The initial stage of development of this website has focused on providing some core information about historical trauma, healing and Aboriginal culture. I should point out here that we will not just be focused on Aboriginal people of Australia, but also Aboriginal and First Nations people of other countries.
You can also find some Personal Stories and an introduction to my colleagues (Marion Kickett and Mike Liu) and I. We also describe some of our initial projects.
I have to say that I am deeply honoured and very excited to be working in this field and to be working with Marion and Mike. It's a new journey for me, a journey I know will bring many joys and many new friends. There are huge challenges ahead as well, but to me these are part and parcel of trying to help create social change.
I'd finally like to emphasise the underlying values of our Sharing Culture initiative: authenticity, connection, courage, creativity, empathy and forgiveness. These values will be central to all we do.
